if you see the beauty
in an old weathered barn,
you’re my kind of beholder

some pictures need a train
some pictures don’t
sometimes i’ll wait for one
sometimes i won’t

“sunrise through my frosty window”
i awoke from strange dreams
and peered out my window,
but all i could see
was more of the same

It’s so bright and sunny out here that it’s hard to believe there’s a whole other world just under the snow and ice– a world of nothing but cold and dark. In a way, it reminds me of us, with our own two sides.
A snowy blanket has two sides:
One that shows and one that hides;
The open side is bathed in light–
The other, though, is black as night

as an introvert
i feel a little
like the ripples
in a quiet stream
as compared to
the crashing waves
of extroverts
in rougher waters–
yet i know
that the world
needs us both
