in times of great social upheaval,
the battle between good and evil
is played out on myriad stages–
and so has it been thru the ages
.
and now, you must do what is right,
so take up your weapon and fight–
but if you hold sway over men,
choose not the sword, but the pen
the eagle, a great bird of prey,
will put on a fearsome display;
yet everyone knows
that even the crows
can easily chase him away

“sunrise through my frosty window”
i awoke from strange dreams
and peered out my window,
but all i could see
was more of the same

stand firmly on the precipice
send out your light to the lost
be strong and weather the storm
be that beacon on solid rock
be like the lighthouse

The snow buntings have arrived en masse; it’s finally cold enough for them here.
Many birds fly in some kind of formation, often wingtip to wingtip like the Blue Angels, but these little snow birds are all over the place. From here, it looks like total chaos, but nothing could be further from the truth.
chaos in nature
is part of the grander scheme
of perfect order

there once was a bubbly, young girl
as bright as a bushy-tailed squirrel,
but her mate wouldn’t quit
telling her she was shit–
now she just wants to hide from the world

the moon and stars now flee before
the mighty sun’s great, flaming sword;
he thrusts it forth to pierce the night
and make way for the golden light
that may, someday, bring peace upon
all mankind–the golden dawn

bosses’ pets often
find themselves looked down on with
unbridled contempt
