A timid young turtle named Nell

Was told she was ugly as hell,

And it hurt her inside

For her friends had all lied–

And now, she stays home in her shell

a house divided

some swarms of insects

silently hang in the air–

when storm clouds

rolled in

o’er the city

at dawn,

the night crept

back in

and the lights came

back on,

and all that

i’d planned

for the day is

now gone
