A rabbit’s foot is supposed to bestow good luck upon its owner, but when they turn brown and there’s still plenty of snow on the ground, it’s more like a curse.

let us not forget compassion
kindness, and dignity for all
may we remember to pause
to absorb the natural beauty
and wonders of this world
